Responsibilities
- Process and prepare prescription medications for patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Assist the pharmacist with sterile compounding and medication therapy management tasks.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing software and computer systems efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions regarding prescriptions and medications.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and DEA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or registration with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy is highly preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes up to 25 pounds.
- Valid state license (if applicable) or eligibility to obtain one.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
