Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and package prescription medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding medication instructions, side effects, and interactions.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly audits.
- Operate pharmacy software systems to update patient records and process insurance claims.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in accordance with health regulations.
- Assist in the compounding of medications when necessary.
Qualifications
- Current and active Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework in healthcare preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage forms.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Proficient with computer systems and point-of-sale (POS) technology.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
