Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure patient dignity and comfort.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and up-to-date patient records in electronic health records (EHR) systems, reporting changes in patient condition promptly.
- Hygiene & Safety: Monitor patient hygiene, assist with mobility, and ensure a safe environment to prevent falls and accidents.
- Communication: Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the medical team, communicating concerns and updates effectively.
- Meal Assistance: Aid patients with meal preparation and feeding as necessary to ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
Qualifications
- Valid Certification: Current, unencumbered CNA license or certification issued by the State of California.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks up to 50 lbs.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Emotional Intelligence: Compassionate demeanor with a strong focus on patient-centered care and empathy.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer literacy for navigating electronic medical records.
