Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, prepare, and dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, check for potential drug interactions, and ensure proper labeling and packaging.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, stocking, and reconciling pharmaceutical supplies to prevent shortages.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries and provide clear instructions on usage and storage.
- Process insurance claims and verify coverage for prescriptions efficiently.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and company compliance policies.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or active registration with the California Board of Pharmacy.
- Current PTCB or ExCPT certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and state pharmacy laws.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Proficient experience with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, BD OmniRx).
- Ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a busy pharmacy environment.
