Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive and process new prescriptions, refill requests, and transfer prescriptions in strict compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor medication stock levels, manage drug inventory, and initiate reordering processes to prevent shortages and ensure availability.
- Patient Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about medications, offering medication therapy management support, and assisting with insurance billing.
- Quality Assurance: Verify the accuracy of all prescriptions, perform third-party insurance verification, and ensure proper labeling and packaging.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA privacy regulations and pharmacy safety protocols to maintain a secure and confidential environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Licensure: Valid state pharmacy technician license required for the State of Wisconsin.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, billing systems, and medical software.
