Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify prescription orders for completeness and accuracy, including checking for drug interactions.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Process insurance claims and handle copay collections with a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment in compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
- Assist patients with medication questions and provide basic health education where appropriate.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure optimal workflow and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred; or ability to obtain certification within 6 months.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician (1-2 years preferred).
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy software systems (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, McKesson).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Valid Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Minnesota.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
