Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields, instruments, and equipment for all procedures
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Ensure proper sterilization and processing of surgical instruments according to OSHA standards
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to maintain optimal operating room readiness
- Document procedural activities accurately and maintain comprehensive patient records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless surgical workflow
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in hospital or ambulatory surgical setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS certification
- Associates degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent preferred
