Responsibilities
- Assist Pharmacists: Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and ensure the pharmacy is fully stocked with essential medications.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and explain prescription instructions clearly and compassionately.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, medication profiles, and inventory logs in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Quality Control: Perform routine checks on medication storage conditions and expiration dates to ensure patient safety.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle cash transactions, process claims, and assist with special ordering of medications.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to focus on details when handling sensitive medical information and precise medication dosages.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and medical staff.
- Computer Literacy: Basic proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn pharmacy management software quickly.
- Reliability: Punctual, professional, and able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
