Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and prepare prescriptions for dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage inventory to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to patients by answering questions about medications, insurance, and store policies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all dispensing activities comply with state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations.
- Pharmacist Assistance: Assist pharmacists with medication therapy management, compounding, and verifying complex orders.
- Quality Control: Perform regular audits of prescription records and labeling to maintain high accuracy standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and minimal errors.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
