Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately according to physician orders and safety protocols.
- Verify prescription information for completeness and accuracy before dispensing.
- Assist customers with prescription inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage inventory levels, including stocking shelves and processing returns efficiently.
- Assist the pharmacist in compounding medications and managing the point-of-sale system.
- Ensure strict compliance with all state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or registration with the Board of Pharmacy is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Basic computer proficiency and strong math skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
