Responsibilities
- Verify the accuracy of prescription requests, patient information, and physician orders.
- Prepare and package medications, including sterile compounding, following strict safety protocols.
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records of pharmaceutical products.
- Assist pharmacists with clinical tasks, medication therapy management, and patient consultations.
- Process insurance claims and handle billing inquiries professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA privacy laws.
- Operate pharmacy dispensing software and medical equipment efficiently.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-first attitude.
- Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy management software.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes up to 25 lbs.
- Valid CPR certification is preferred.
