Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound pharmaceutical preparations
- Verify patient information and insurance details for all transactions
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain precise medication records and documentation per regulatory standards
- Collaborate with pharmacists to resolve medication-related inquiries
- Operate pharmacy technology systems efficiently and troubleshoot issues
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
