Responsibilities
- Verify Prescription Accuracy: Review prescriptions for completeness, correctness, and patient safety before dispensing.
- Medication Preparation: Prepare and package prescription medications, including counting, pouring, and labeling.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmacy inventory, and place orders for pharmaceutical supplies.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with prescription inquiries, insurance questions, and provide medication counseling where required.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to state and federal laws, HIPAA regulations, and pharmacy safety protocols.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Florida.
- Certification: PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to focus on detail to prevent medication errors.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
