Responsibilities
- Accurately process and fill prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information and insurance details to ensure billing accuracy and compliance.
- Assist customers with medication inquiries and provide basic health education.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and rotating stock.
- Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems and pharmacy dispensing software efficiently.
- Prepare sterile compounds and intravenous (IV) medications when certified.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to obtain certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT).
- Current, unencumbered Texas Pharmacy Technician License.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and drug interactions.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients and medical staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with pharmacy management systems.
