Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications: Accurately fill prescriptions following doctor's orders and safety protocols.
- Manage inventory: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain accurate records.
- Customer Service: Greet patients, answer phone inquiries, and resolve medication-related questions with empathy.
- Verify insurance and billing: Process insurance claims and handle cash transactions efficiently.
- Compounding and packaging: Prepare compounded prescriptions and package medication for distribution.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work complies with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program preferred.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is a plus.
- Math Skills: Strong aptitude for basic arithmetic and medication math.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with pharmacy management software systems.
