Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Verify patient identity and accurately complete all necessary requisition forms and labels.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and laboratory safety protocols.
- Ensure a sterile and organized work environment for both patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and explain procedures clearly.
- Process and store blood samples according to established laboratory standards.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely specimen delivery.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or related certification required.
- Current State of Illinois Phlebotomy license where applicable.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume medical setting.
- Basic computer proficiency and EHR experience.
