Responsibilities
- Perform routine blood draws using venipuncture and capillary collection methods.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and proper specimen labeling.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized phlebotomy workstation.
- Explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
- Process and transport specimens to the laboratory efficiently and accurately.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a clinical or high-volume phlebotomy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
