Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label specimens for laboratory processing.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA standards.
- Explain procedures to patients, answer questions, and alleviate anxiety during the collection process.
- Manage patient records and specimen inventory efficiently.
- Assist with data entry and quality assurance checks within the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-2 years of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
