Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary stick procedures on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Prepare and label blood specimens accurately for laboratory testing.
- Verify patient identity and medical information prior to specimen collection.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and sterile techniques to prevent infection.
- Comfort and reassure patients during the drawing process to minimize anxiety.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure accurate specimen handling and delivery.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be willing to complete the on-site paid training program.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus but not required upon hire.
