Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and medical history prior to specimen collection.
- Label, log, and transport specimens to the laboratory for processing efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care and accurate record-keeping.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for all patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, CPT-I, or equivalent) required.
- 1-2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to calm and reassure nervous patients.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume medical setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
