Responsibilities
- Draw blood samples from patients using various venipuncture techniques safely and efficiently.
- Label, log, and prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the phlebotomy area.
- Verify patient information and ensure accuracy of specimen collection.
- Handle patient interactions with empathy and professionalism.
- Document all procedures and patient reactions accurately.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent is preferred.
- Current state license if required.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift light equipment.
