Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, following strict aseptic techniques.
- Prepare and process blood samples, urine, and other specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety during the draw process.
- Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment and workstations in compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations.
- Manage patient records electronically, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
- Collaborate with lab technicians and medical staff to resolve specimen quality issues.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Phlebotomy Certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent).
- Active AZ State Phlebotomy License (if required by state regulations).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation for on-site duties.
