Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and alleviate anxiety to ensure a positive experience.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Properly label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory.
- Manage patient check-in and registration processes efficiently.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy area.
- Collaborate with the nursing and lab teams to ensure accurate reporting.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are essential.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate electronic health records.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must possess a valid, unexpired state ID or driver’s license.
