Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Prepare and label blood specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Greet patients, verify identification, and explain procedures to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols (OSHA, HIPAA).
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and ensure equipment is sanitized and functioning correctly.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to facilitate efficient patient flow.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent state licensure.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and venipuncture techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
