Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Verify patient information and ensure proper specimen labeling and handling according to strict protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all infection control and safety standards.
- Assist with patient intake, explaining procedures, and alleviating patient anxiety during the collection process.
- Log patient data accurately into laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for travel between sites.
