Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens following HIPAA compliance protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with laboratory staff for specimen processing
- Document patient information and test results accurately
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in blood collection
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Attention to detail and precision in specimen handling
- Valid Virginia state healthcare license
