Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, infection control standards, and OSHA regulations.
- Greet patients, verify identities, and explain procedures to minimize anxiety and ensure comfort.
- Label, process, and transport blood specimens to the laboratory for analysis in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Manage inventory levels of phlebotomy supplies and ensure the work area is clean and organized.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Specialist certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred but not mandatory for high-performing candidates.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
