Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with minimal discomfort.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols to prevent infection.
- Accurately label, process, and store blood samples for laboratory analysis.
- Gather patient history and demographic information to ensure proper record-keeping.
- Maintain and sterilize phlebotomy equipment and supplies according to regulatory standards.
- Comfort and reassure patients during the blood collection process.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure accurate test results.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (e.g., ASPT, NHA, or equivalent).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proven experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
