Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood sample collection
- Ensure proper specimen labeling, handling, and transportation per protocols
- Provide patient education during procedures to reduce anxiety
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records (EHR)
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Collaborate with lab staff for specimen processing and testing
- Operate and troubleshoot phlebotomy equipment
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Pass background check and drug screening
