Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across all patient demographics
- Process and label specimens with 100% accuracy for lab testing
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control protocols
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Collaborate with clinical teams on specimen handling
- Document all procedures in compliance with HIPAA standards
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and safety protocols
- Exceptional communication and patient interaction skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Attention to detail with specimen handling procedures
