Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures to ensure comfort and reduce anxiety.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
- Properly label, process, and transport specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Manage patient registration data and medical history with accuracy.
- Assist in blood drives and mobile phlebotomy units as required.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
