Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and microcollection procedures with precision and care
- Process and label specimens according to strict protocols and HIPAA guidelines
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health systems
- Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, and transportation to testing facilities
- Provide exceptional patient education and support during blood collection procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked work environment
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care delivery
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and medical software
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Valid CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
