Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA protocols
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control standards
- Verify patient identification and prepare samples for lab testing
- Operate automated blood collection systems and point-of-care devices
- Document patient interactions and specimen handling electronically
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or AMT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical blood collection experience
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent venipuncture skills for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare settings
- Basic computer proficiency for EMR systems
- Valid Nebraska state phlebotomy license
