Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Operate automated analyzers and point-of-care testing equipment
- Collaborate with nursing and laboratory teams for seamless patient workflow
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTCB or ASCP preferred)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong venipuncture skills including difficult draws
- CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Proficiency in LIS and EHR systems
