Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and transport specimens to the laboratory maintaining chain of custody
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for testing
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital setting
- CPR certification required
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal callbacks
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
