Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures for patients of all ages
- Process, label, and transport specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA regulations
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to infection control protocols
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for specimen tracking and documentation
- Provide exceptional patient care during high-volume collection scenarios
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen processing
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT1 or CPT2)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficiency in venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen handling
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Basic computer skills with EHR experience preferred
