Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following strict aseptic protocols
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory departments
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic systems
- Calibrate and troubleshoot phlebotomy equipment
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with lab staff for urgent specimen processing
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in fast-paced environment
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in LIS data entry and specimen tracking systems
- Exceptional venipuncture skills with minimal trauma rate
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Strong interpersonal skills for diverse patient populations
- Attention to detail with zero-error specimen handling
