Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens according to HIPAA protocols
- Maintain sterile environments and biohazard waste disposal standards
- Verify patient identification and maintain accurate electronic records
- Collaborate with laboratory staff for seamless specimen workflow
- Provide exceptional patient care during high-volume collection periods
- Train new staff on phlebotomy best practices and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Current NJ Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in LIS/EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Exceptional venipuncture skills with diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced settings
- Valid NJ driver's license for specimen transport
