Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections across diverse patient demographics
- Process, label, and transport specimens to laboratory with 100% accuracy
- Maintain sterile technique and infection control protocols per OSHA standards
- Verify patient identity and document procedures in EHR systems
- Train new staff on collection techniques and equipment operation
- Collaborate with lab teams to resolve specimen discrepancies
- Manage inventory of collection supplies and equipment
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- 1+ years clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR documentation systems
- Excellent venipuncture skills for challenging patient cases
- Strong attention to detail and HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
