Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws across diverse patient populations
- Process, label, and transport specimens with strict adherence to HIPAA protocols
- Operate laboratory equipment including analyzers and centrifuges
- Maintain accurate patient records and specimen tracking systems
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with nursing and lab teams for seamless care coordination
- Ensure infection control compliance through proper PPE usage and waste disposal
Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems (EHR)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling protocols
- Valid NC driver's license for specimen transport
