Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile techniques and adhere to OSHA/Biosafety protocols
- Process specimens using LIS systems and ensure proper labeling
- Provide patient education and emotional support during procedures
- Manage inventory and calibrate equipment as required
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Strong venipuncture skills with pediatric and geriatric populations
- Knowledge of CLIA, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency with laboratory information systems
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
