Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary punctures, and specialized blood draws following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens with 100% accuracy while maintaining chain of custody
- Operate automated analyzers and maintain laboratory equipment calibration
- Provide exceptional patient education and comfort during blood collection procedures
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and OSHA safety standards at all times
- Collaborate with physicians and lab staff to ensure timely test results
- Maintain detailed patient records and specimen documentation
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Proven ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling expertise
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
