Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of laboratory specimens
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy and cultural sensitivity
- Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA compliance standards
- Collaborate with lab and clinical teams to optimize workflow efficiency
- Train and mentor new phlebotomy staff as needed
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT1)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in venipuncture and pediatric blood collection techniques
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Background check and drug screening clearance mandatory
