Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and microcollection procedures accurately
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols
- Operate automated analyzers and laboratory information systems
- Provide patient education and comfort during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams on specimen handling priorities
- Document all procedures and maintain electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques across diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and laboratory safety standards
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare environments
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
