Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation
- Ensure proper handling and storage of biological samples
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient flow
- Perform quality control and equipment maintenance
- Train new staff on phlebotomy best practices
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols
- Excellent venipuncture skills with all patient populations
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy
- Valid CPR certification
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems
- Minnesota Phlebotomy license (if applicable)
