Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA standards
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols
- Utilize LIS/HIS systems for specimen tracking and documentation
- Provide exceptional patient care during high-volume collections
- Train new staff on phlebotomy best practices
- Collaborate with laboratory and nursing teams
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance
- Excellent venipuncture skills for diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity
- New Mexico state phlebotomy license (if applicable)
