Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood draws following OSHA and CLIA standards
- Process and transport specimens to designated laboratories with proper documentation
- Verify patient identification and prepare lab requisitions with precision
- Maintain sterile collection equipment and inventory of supplies
- Provide patient education on pre-test procedures and specimen collection
- Utilize LIS systems for order entry and specimen tracking
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance protocols for patient confidentiality
Qualifications
- Current Alaska Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- CPR/BLS certification from accredited provider
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Strong attention to detail and infection control practices
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
