Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and instrumentation
- Assist surgeons during procedures including draping, retraction, and suturing
- Manage equipment sterilization and inventory per OSHA/JCAHO standards
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document surgical counts and equipment usage accurately
- Maintain operating room readiness between cases
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years recent OR experience in Level I trauma center
- BLS certification with current ACLS preferred
- Experience with robotic surgical systems (da Vinci) a plus
- Ability to stand 8+ hours with frequent heavy lifting (50+ lbs)
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and procedures
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
