Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections across diverse patient demographics
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain sterile environments and equipment calibration
- Provide exceptional patient care during blood draw procedures
- Utilize electronic health records for documentation
- Collaborate with nursing staff for specimen collection coordination
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA compliance standards
Qualifications
- Current Florida Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for all age groups
- Strong knowledge of specimen handling and transport procedures
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare environments
- High school diploma or equivalent required
