Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties to support our diagnostic operations:
Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
- Label, process, and transport blood specimens to the central laboratory following strict chain-of-custody protocols.
- Maintain a sterile, clean, and organized work environment; sterilize and sanitize equipment daily.
- Assist with point-of-care testing (POCT) and patient intake processes as needed.
- Document all collection data accurately and efficiently in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Adhere to all safety regulations, infection control policies, and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required (or equivalent eligibility).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of previous phlebotomy experience preferred but not mandatory for high-performing candidates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Proficiency in computer systems and medical terminology is a plus.
